Pastor Ben & Rebekah Hitzfeld
Ben & Rebekah Hitzfeld came to Darlington Christian church in August 2009.
The Hitzfeld's moved to Darlington from Manhattan, KS. Ben and Rebekah attended and graduated from Manhattan Chrisitan College. Ben received his BA in Pastoral Ministry and Rebekah received her BS in Bible, as well as a BS in Interior Design from Kansas State University.
Ben grew up in Junction City, KS. Before graduating high school he joined the Army Reserves in 2001. Ben tried running from the call to ministry for over a year, but obviously, it was to no avail. Ben enrolled at Manhattan Christian College in August 2004. He has spent 3 years in youth ministry and also filled a pulpit at Westmoreland Christian Church for a year.
Other than ministry and preaching, Ben enjoys staying active by playing sports, fishing, camping, and some hiking. He is a huge fan of college football, basketball, and the NFL. Some of his favoirite teams inlcude the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas Jayhawks, and the KC Chiefs & Royals. Ben is passionate about great coffee, smoked and bbq'd meats, and theological books. Stop by the church office to say hello and grab a cub of coffee.
Rebekah is a preacher's daughter. Her father is a United Methodist Minister in western Kansas. Rebekah uses her degree from Manhattan Christian College by leading the young adult Sunday school class. The Interior Design program at KSU where Rebekah received her degree from was recently rated as the #1 program in the U.S.
Rebekah LOVES to read books of all kinds. She enjoys walks, artistic projects, and she serves as one of the churches techies.
Ben & Rebekah are passionate about building relationships with those in the church and building bridges to those outside of the church.
It is a God given privilege to serve the body of Christ. We thank the Lord for each and every one of you.
